How to Update an Eclipse From Galileo to a Helios
- 1). Select "Window" > "Preferences" from the menu bar. A preferences screen will appear.
- 2). Select "Install/Update" from the list on the left hand side of the screen. The list will expand. Choose "Available Software Sites" from the expanded list. The center of the screen will change to show the available software repositories.
- 3). Check to see if http://download.eclipse.org/releases/helios is on the list. If not, select the "Add" button in the upper right hand side of the preferences screen.
- 4). Type "Helios Update" into the "Name" field. In the location field, type or paste http://download.eclipse.org/releases/helios and select "OK."
- 1). Select "Help" > "Check for Updates" from the menu bar. The "Contacting Software Sites" progress bar will appear. This step may take a while. When complete, a list of updates will appear.
- 2). Choose the updates you would like to install and select "Next." The "Update Details" screen will appear asking you to review and confirm your updates.
- 3). Select "Next" again. You will be asked to review and confirm accept the licenses for the packages you have selected. If you agree to the terms, select "I accept the terms of the license agreements."
- 4). Select "Finish." A window will appear showing the progress of the update.
- 5). Restart your computer when the update process has concluded.
