How to Plug Rough Sawn After Blown in Insulation
- 1). Measure the hole left by the installation with a tape measure.
- 2). Place the scrap rough-sawn section of siding on a work surface.
- 3). Insert into your drill a hole-saw bit the same size as the hole in the siding. Cut out as many plugs as needed to plug the installation holes from the rough-sawn section of siding.
- 4). Apply wood epoxy around the opening of the installation holes and the edges of the wood plugs.
- 5). Push the wood plugs into the holes and orient the grain with the grain of the siding. Allow the epoxy to dry.
- 6). Sand the seams of the plugged holes with an orbital sander equipped with a medium-grit sanding disc until the seam is flush with the surface of the wood.
