How to Calculate Hours & Minutes From Seconds

1). Divide your total number of seconds by 60 using the calculator to get the number of minutes. The answer will be in decimal form. For instance, if you have 90 seconds, that translates to 1.5 minutes.
2). Calculate from decimal to time format by multiplying the amount to the right of the decimal point by 60. Using the prior example of .5 minutes, multiply .5 by 60 yielding 30 seconds. Thus 90 seconds is 1.5 minutes or 1 minute and 30 seconds (1:30).
3). Translate seconds to hours by dividing the number of seconds by 3,600 using the calculator. For example if you have 4,800 seconds, divide it 3,600 yielding 1.5 hours.
4). Calculate from decimal to time format by multiplying the amount to the right of the decimal point by 60. In this example of .5 hours is multiplied by 60 yielding 30 minutes. Thus 4,800 seconds is 1.5 hours or 1 hour and 30 minutes (1:30).
