The Peace Dollar was designed by Anthony de Francisci; its name was applied because the word "peace" was printed below the eagle on the reverse side of the coin. - The Peace Dollar first entered production in 1921. After production ceased in 1928, the coin was reintroduced from 1934 to 1935.

Identify the minting location by letter: "D" means the coin was minted in Denver, Colorado; "S" means San Francisco, California; and no letter means Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. - A small number of 1921 Peace Dollars were printed and immediately sealed to prevent circulation. In 2006, these coins were valued up to $50,000 each.
- The Peace Dollar was minted again in 1965 with the date of the coin appearing as 1964; however, all coins of this series were melted down before they entered circulation.
