How to Disable WPA on Windows XP Home Edition
- 1). Double-click "Internet Explorer" on Windows XP Home Edition's desktop.
- 2). Load your router's settings page. Type your router IP address, found in your instruction manual, into the "Address" bar to load the router settings page like a regular website. Log into your router settings page using either the default user name and password, found in your manual, or the unique user name and password that you specified when you initially set up WPA protection on your network.
- 3). Click "Security."
- 4). Use the "Security Type" drop down menu to select either "None" or "Disabled," depending on which is available with your specific router.
- 5). Click "Save" to remove WPA protection from your Windows XP Home Edition network.
