- 1). Back up your computer. To do so, click the Windows "Start" menu and click "Programs." Click "Accessories" and click "System Tools." Click "System Restore" to launch the backup utility.
- 2). Click "Create a new restore point on the backup utility and click "Next." Type a name for the restore point and click "Create" to back up your computer. It is is important to back up your computer so that you have a restore point you can revert to if you make a mistake during the removal process.
- 3). Launch the task manager by pressing "Ctrl," "Alt," and "Delete" together. Click the "Processes" tab. Click the "%desktopdirectory%\ws\systemsecurity.exe " process and click "End Process" to terminate the System Security Version 4.51 process.
- 4). Click the Start menu in Windows, then click "Run" (Windows XP) or "Start Search" (Windows Vista and 7). Type "regedit" (without quote marks) and press "Enter" to launch the registry.
- 5). Click "Edit" on the menu and click "Find" to launch the search utility. Search for and delete the following registry entry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run systemsecurity. Click "File" and click "Exit" to close the Registry. - 6). Click the Start menu and click "Search." Click "All Files and Folders" on the left panel to open the search window. Click "More Advanced Options" and place a check on all the options given. Search for and delete the following System Security Version 4.51 files:

%desktopdirectory%\ws\config.udb
%desktopdirectory%\ws\init.udb
%desktopdirectory%\ws\languages\english.lng
%desktopdirectory%\ws\languages\german.lng
%desktopdirectory%\ws\languages\spanish.lng
%programs%\system security\system security.lnk - 7). Click the Start menu and click "My Computer." Double-click the "C:" drive and double-click the "Program and Files" folder if you are using Windows XP. For Windows Vista and 7 users, double-click the "ProgramData" folder.
- 8). Locate the System Security folder and right-click it. Click "Delete." Empty the recycle bin and restart your computer to complete the removal process.
