How to Make a Sunburst Clock
- 1). Roll out the polymer clay into a ball that is the size of a softball. Flatten the ball with a cookie sheet into a 1/2-inch-thick round disk.
- 2). Roll out a long clay snake that is the width of a pencil. Place the snake on the clay disk, creating an inner circle halfway from the center and the edge. Pierce through the center of the disk with the wooden skewer.
- 3). Place the disk on the cookie sheet and bake it in the oven at 175-degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes. Let the disk cool for 20 minutes.
- 4). Draw a triangle with the black crayon on the copper sheeting that measures 8-inches long and 3-inches wide at its base. Cut out the triangle with the wire cutters. Repeat this, creating eight sunburst beams.
- 5). Paint the interior circle of the disk with the gold paint. Paint small squares around the edge of the disk to designate the hours.
- 6). Attach the copper sunburst beams to the back of the disk with the epoxy glue, evenly spaced around the circle.
- 7). Insert the clock mechanism through the center hole in the disk and screw it in place. Glue a picture hanger on the back of the completed sunburst clock.
