- 1). Right-click on the "Start" menu button.
- 2). Click on "Properties" to open a dialog box. Click on the tab labeled "Start Menu."
- 3). Click on "Customize." Scroll all the way to the bottom of the list. Click on the box labeled "Use Large Start Menu Icons" to remove the check.
- 4). Click on "Apply," and then click "OK." This makes your Start menu smaller. Click on the "Start" menu button to view the new smaller icons and layout.
