How to Change the Startup Task Bar
- 1). Right-click a blank area of the startup taskbar. Choose the "Properties" option.
- 2). Click the "Notification Area" tab. Clear a box to remove an item from the notification area. Your options are clock, volume, network and power. Click the "Apply" button. Click the "OK" button.
- 3). Right-click a program icon. Click "Exit" or "Close" if the option is available. This closes the program and removes it from the notification area. Not all programs have this option.
- 4). Open the "Start" menu. Type "msconfig" into the "Search" box. Click "msconfig" to open System Configuration.
- 5). Click the "Startup" tab. Uncheck each startup program to remove it from the list. This permanently removes programs from your startup list. Click the "Apply" button and then "OK."
