    • 1). Unplug the Coralife fixture and put all switches in the "off" position. Allow the compact light bulb to cool before moving on.

    • 2). Lift the Coralife fixture up from your aquarium and remove it from the hanging brackets with a Philips screwdriver. Place the light fixture on a smooth work surface, with the bottom of the fixture facing up.

    • 3). Locate the side plate at the bottom end of the fixture, opposite the side with the on/off switch. Remove the two screws that hold this piece in place with the Philips screwdriver and lift it up and away from the Coralife fixture.

    • 4). Grasp the glass cover that is over the compact light bulbs. Carefully slide it sideways out of its grooves and toward the opening created when you removed the side plate.

    • 5). Locate the lamp clips that are holding the compact light bulb in place. Remove the retaining bands.

    • 6). Pull the compact light bulb out of the socket by grasping the socket and the bulb and pulling them apart. Pull the loose bulb free from the lamp clips to remove it completely from the Coralife fixture.

    • 7). Install a new compact light bulb by reversing the removal process. Reverse the rest of the procedure to put the Coralife fixture back together.
