    • 1). Use the scissors to cut out a square piece of cardboard. The size of the cardboard does not matter, so choose a size depending on how much space you want your model to take up.

    • 2). Paint the entire surface of your cardboard square green. The green forms a base that represents the grass of the baseball field. The other features of the field can be painted on later.

    • 3). Paint a smaller brown square on top of the cardboard surface. The square should be at least one-third the size of the cardboard surface. It should also be aligned with one corner, almost in the corner; the sides of the brown square and cardboard should be parallel to each other.

    • 4). In the middle of the brown square, paint a small white circle. This is the pitcher's mound.

    • 5). In the corner of the brown square closest to the corner of the cardboard, paint a small white pentagon. This is the home plate.

    • 6). In each of the other three corners of the brown square, paint a small white square. These are the bases of your field.

    • 7). In the corner where the home plate is painted, glue three of the wooden dowels upright with one exactly on the corner and one dowel on each side. The 3 dowels should be on the edges of the brown square.

    • 8). Stretch the wire mesh across the wooden dowels and glue them in place. You should now have a wire fence around the corner where the home plate is.

    • 9). Cut out two staircase-shaped pieces of cardboard.

    • 10

Glue the two pieces of cardboard upright and parallel to each other behind the corner of the model with the wire mesh. They should be placed with the smaller ends of the cardboard pieces pointing towards the field.

    • 11

Cut out rectangles of cardboard the width of each "stair" and exactly long enough to stretch between the two staircase-shaped pieces of cardboard.

    • 12

Glue one cardboard rectangle to each horizontal section of the staircase-shaped pieces of cardboard. These will form the surfaces of the stairs.
